The nation’s premier convention center, KINTEX opened its doors in April 2003 as part of efforts to help globalize South Korea’s meetings industry. The facility further expanded its capabilities with the addition of a second exhibition center on the premises in September 2011. A highly-capable event venue, KINTEX today boasts a total indoor meeting space of over 100,000m², suitable for world-class conventions, exhibitions, and many other kinds of functions. It not only makes significant contributions to MICE industry growth, but also provides an environmentally-friendly venue for events that is powered by various forms of renewable energy. In 2012, KINTEX hosted a total of 857 domestic and international events, including 97 exhibitions, 112 cultural functions, and 648 meetings. It steadily attracts an annual average of approximately 50,000 international visitors, making it a truly global convention center in every sense of the term.
